International Day of Happiness!
It’s the best day of the year, March 20th! For the last 12 years, the world unites on this day to celebrate International Day of Happiness. It serves as a global reminder of the importance of wellbeing and happiness in both our personal and professional lives. This years the theme is centred around happiness for the young, the old, and everyone in between. No matter who we are, what we do or where we live – Happiness should be accessible and achievable for us all.
Happiness Manager?
As the Happiness Manager at Ocean Healthcare, I strongly believe, that I should’ve had this day off as a public holiday 😉 Kidding! I couldn’t be more excited to participate in this worldwide celebration with the incredible bunch of people I’m surrounded by at Ocean Healthcare. As a company, our mission is to support everyone who works with us to be Happier with Ocean Healthcare. So, today holds a special significance not just for me, but the entire business. I have personally spent the last few months putting together Ocean Healthcare’s Happiness Strategy (yep, really!). It shows our commitment to genuine happiness and I’ve been working tirelessly to ensure that our strategy creates a culture where happiness thrives, relationships flourish and our quality of care is unmatched.
Live Happy Care Well is our philosophy here at Ocean Healthcare. It’s not just a motto we thought of one day to look nice written on our walls. Live Happy Care Well is the cornerstone of our values here. No matter what team you are in, everything we do has this philosophy in mind. But what does it mean? To give the best version of you to others, you need to be in a good place yourself. You cannot pour from an empty cup. Our commitment here at Ocean Healthcare, is to ensure we are refilling that cup for everyone who works with us.

What does International Day of Happiness really mean to us? It’s reaffirming our commitment to Happiness and creating a sense of belonging within Ocean Healthcare. It's also an opportunity to recognise the amazing efforts of our care workers and internal team members. They embody our values and mission, day in, day out. We could not do what we do without our amazing community who commits to inspiring a positive change in the care industry every day. Our team are the driving force behind everything that we do and we are truly honoured to have them as part of Ocean Healthcare.
As we come together to celebrate happiness today (and every day!) please try to take a moment to appreciate the little things that bring you joy throughout your day. It can be big, small and everything in between. For me, personally, taking the time to be present with my morning espresso, before walking my dogs in the fresh air, is enough to start my day on the right foot. Embrace the power of gratitude to uplift your spirits and create a brighter future for yourself. It truly knows no bounds. You just have to take the first step forwards.
